Application Architect Managers deliver and deploy custom developed applications for clients, including prototyping, code development, modularization, unit testing, performance testing, configuration and defect management, and production deployment.


Managers in this practice are expected to manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors, identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies, develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients and perform the role of counselor and coach by providing leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices.

Application Architect Managers in the System Development practice are required to have:


  • 8 years of relevant consulting or industry experience

  • At least 2 years of experience managing large technology engagements

  • Minimum of 4 full system development life cycle implementations

    • Led teams responsible for soliciting non-functional requirements

    • Translated requirements into client ready design documents including UML models

    • Led teams that performed Unit Testing of the application architecture frameworks and supporting functionality

    • Worked closely with the functional and testing teams to understand their functional requirements and the impact to the application architecture

    • Led configuration and change management teams who were responsible for application deployments including the coordination of database changes and other necessary application configurations.



  • At least 3 years Continuous Integration or similar build and deploy experience

  • At least 4 years of experience with business process analysis, mapping, and design

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in requirements analysis and performing current state system analysis

  • At least 4 years of experience with application architecture and solution development with JEE(J2EE) or .NET

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience performing conceptual and technical designs, including the use of object oriented analysis and design techniques, SOA, BPM, ECM notices, interfaces and reports

  • A willingness to travel 80 - 100% of the time


Successful Application Architect- Managers will have the following preferred background:


  • ORM experience (Hibernate, NHibernate, EF)

  • Experience with MVP or MVC patterns

  • Experience with common OO design patterns

  • TFS 2010+ experience

  • ASP.NET MVC experience

  • Experience in Healthcare, Public Sector or Financial Services industries

  • Experience with JQuery, JavaScript and common JavaScript Patterns

  • Leading Testing efforts, including all phases: System, Integration, and Performance Testing and ensuring traceability

  • Exposure to enterprise applications such as Siebel, SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle

  • Experience with Middleware and/or SOA base implementations

  • Leading teams through IT Strategy initiatives

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

  • Eagerness to mentor junior staff

  • A Bachelor's Degree

  • An advanced degree in the area of specialization
