Job Description
The Test Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all testing, commissioning, and system acceptance activities related to BEUMER's airport baggage handling solutions across North America. This role provides technical and operational leadership throughout the commissioning lifecycle, ensuring system performance, resource alignment, customer satisfaction, and successful project delivery in support of BEUMER's Airport Division business objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the seven phases of commissioning and testing activities for airport baggage handling systems.
  • Lead and manage the work of commissioning engineers and test personnel assigned to airport projects.
  • Measure, monitor, and report progress across all commissioning, testing, and system acceptance phases.
  • Ensure all commissioning documentation, check sheets, test reports, and turnover packages are accurately completed and maintained.
  • Liaise with project management and operational teams to support on-time and successful project execution.
  • Coordinate with third parties, subcontractors, and stakeholders regarding testing requirements, request control, and evaluation activities (e.g., electrical bonding and interface testing).
  • Validate system functionality, operational performance, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Represent BEUMER during commissioning, testing, and stakeholder meetings with customers, airport authorities, consultants, and project partners.
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust commissioning schedules, resource plans, and testing programs as required.
  • Identify, document, and report discrepancies between system performance and functional design specifications.
  • Coordinate service interruptions and testing windows with customers and airport stakeholders as required.
  • Support and conduct customer acceptance testing (CAT) and operational readiness activities.
  • Deliver customer training and facilitate the transition to Customer Support and Hotline teams, including knowledge transfer and training documentation.
  • Promote and maintain compliance with all safety, security, quality, and airport operational requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and commissioning leadership to support the continued growth and success of BEUMER's Airport Division.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as requested by management or project teams.

Compensation Range: 115,000-130,000 Annually
The posted salary range reflects the compensation the company reasonably expects to offer for this position. Actual compensation will not be less than the posted minimum and will be based on multiple factors.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in baggage handling systems, airport automation, or automated material handling systems, including direct commissioning, testing, and system startup experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading commissioning and testing activities on airport-related projects is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain an Airport Security Clearance/Airside Pass.
  • Strong understanding of high-level and low-level control systems, system integration, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced project environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented with a customer-focused mindset and professional demeanor.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by airport operations and project demands.
  • Ability to travel extensively to airport project sites throughout North America to support project execution and ensure successful delivery of customer commitments, up to 50%.
