Job description

Our SEO/AEO specialist (called Performance Marketing Manager) plays a key role in executing and optimizing organic strategies that improve search visibility, answer engine presence and measurable client outcomes. This mid-level role partners with strategists, designers, developers, copywriters and clients to translate business goals into clear SEO/AEO recommendations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:Search & AI Strategy Execution 
  • Contribute to SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategies for assigned clients by translating client goals, audience behavior, search intent and performance data into practical recommendations.
  • Own day-to-day SEO/AEO deliverables with rigor, polish and clear rationale, including audits, content briefs, analysis, reporting inputs and optimization recommendations that help the team move work forward.
  • Collaborate with content, development, analytics, paid media, account and strategy teams to ensure SEO/AEO recommendations are actionable, integrated and tied to broader marketing plans.
Content
  • Conduct keyword, topic, intent, SERP, competitor and AI research to identify content gaps, entity and authority opportunities and visibility risks across traditional search and AI platforms.
  • Understand how AI models understand, summarize, cite and recommend brands and translate analysis into identified patterns, source/citation gaps and recommended actions.
  • Support offsite integration strategies by researching social media, citations, digital PR, partnership, other cross-channel signals that influence organic visibility and AI visibility.
Technical
  • Audit technical SEO issues including crawlability, indexation, internal linking, URL structure, redirects, canonicalization, XML sitemaps, robots directives, page speed/Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, JavaScript rendering and schema markup.
  • Analyze and translate technical findings into prioritized roadmaps that balance business impact, user value, level of effort, development dependencies and performance risk.
  • Identify and implement structured data, metadata, internal linking and content enhancements that improve search engine and answer engine understanding, eligibility for rich results and alignment with user intent.
Data Analysis
  • Monitor organic performance using platforms such as GA4, Google Search Console, Data Studio, and rank/visibility tools to surface signals early and clearly explain what changed, why it matters and what to do next.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • 3+years of digital marketing experience with a primary focus on SEO; agency or multi-client experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience considered.
  • Hands-on understanding of SEO fundamentals across technical SEO, content strategy, internal linking, structured data, information architecture and offsite authority.
  • Working knowledge of AEO concepts, including entity signals, source/citation analysis, conversational query behavior and how content may be interpreted by AI models and answer engines.
  • Ability to audit technical SEO issues and explain their impact in plain language to cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize recommendations using impact/effort, business goals, dependencies and performance data.
  • Strong analytical, research, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn data and observations into clear next steps.
  • Comfort using GA4, Google Search Console, Excel/Google Sheets, Looker Studio, crawling tools such as Screaming Frog, and SEO research/ranking platforms and CMS platforms.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript rendering considerations, and schema markup.
