Job Summary

This role is responsible for performance determination and reporting and analyses of Duke Energy's Energy Efficiency (EE) portfolio and retail product and service offerings, and supports various EE regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions, primarily focused on DEC and DEP. This role is integral to the retail portfolio planning process, calculating annual revenue and earnings contributions from the portfolio and tracking results relative to regulatory requirements throughout the year. This role is responsible for calculating EE/DSM revenue and earnings and producing work products filed with state commissions in accordance with regulatory timing and requirements. This role interacts with multiple internal groups working in Energy Efficiency including Regulatory Strategy, Rates, Program Performance, Evaluation Measurement & Verification, and others, as well as occasionally with external stakeholders. This is an individual contributor role with accountabilities for individual work products across groups.

Responsibilities

Development of information used in Energy Efficiency (EE) cost recovery rider filings and used for meetings with external collaborative groups. Information includes MWH and MW impacts and associated EE program revenues.

  • Determines and reviews revenue calculations for EE portfolio
  • Produces formal workpapers for cost recovery rider filings and may assist with testimony
  • Manages scenarios, modeling, and analytics of various regulatory methodologies and makes recommendations to the regulatory strategy function.
  • Supports Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) process documentation of procedures related to cost recovery rider filings
  • Supports internal and external data requests including preparing filed responses to regulatory requests and requests from external collaborative groups; presents to external stakeholders, including regulatory.

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Minimum required 5 years related work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, or Economics
  • CPA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Energy Efficiency
  • Experience in rates analytics
  • Experience in financial reporting/modeling
  • Experience with UI Planner
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, etc.)

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
