Job description

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH)  is hiring Director of Patient Safety and Quality Improvement to join our Quality Department in Bolivar, Missouri — someone who leads with skill, compassion, and a drive to positively impact every patient and family we serve. This collaborative leadership role is responsible for advancing a culture of safety, high reliability, regulatory excellence, and continuous performance improvement across the healthcare system. The Director leads the organization’s Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and provides strategic oversight for Patient Safety, Infection Prevention, Employee Health, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Patient Experience, Quality Reporting, Time-Critical Diagnosis programs, and Clinical Registries.

What Your Day Looks Like: Quality Department

As Director of Patient Safety and Quality Improvement, you will be:

  • Leading system-wide patient safety and quality improvement initiatives focused on achieving zero preventable harm.
  • Driving performance improvement through data analysis, outcome measurement, and evidence-based improvement methodologies.
  • Partnering with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to improve clinical outcomes.
  • Supporting regulatory readiness and compliance with CMS, state, and accreditation requirements.
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams and facilitating quality committees, patient safety activities, and organizational improvement projects.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, continuous learning, and high reliability across all care settings.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, must pass annual competencies.

Experience: Five years of leadership experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, risk management or performance improvement. Three years of experience leading quality improvement initiatives.

Licensure/Certification: RN with current Missouri licensure, CPI training, HazMat Awareness, BLS.

Physical Requirements: The ability to stand for long periods and to thrive in a fast-paced environment
