Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION

SOFFA Electric, a well-established systems integration firm with over 50 years of experience, is seeking a Project Manager II to lead and manage complex system integration projects. This role requires strong leadership, clear communication skills, and proactive approach to problem-solving. The Project Manager II will oversee project planning, execution, and completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management within systems integration or the water/wastewater industry, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management or a related field, and a PMP certification (preferred).


OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, schedule, and budget. Ensure projects are executed according to these plans, meeting all milestones and deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and regulatory bodies. Ensure that stakeholder expectations are managed and met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project to minimize impact on project outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Provide guidance and support to team members to achieve project goals.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints. Identify and address any budget variances promptly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement lessons learned from previous projects to improve processes and outcomes. Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the project team.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by delivering projects that meet or exceed client expectations. Address any client concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation. Provide regular status reports to senior management and other stakeholders.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage system integration projects from initiation to completion.
  • Successfully and methodically manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, procurement, and technical services teams.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, reports, and change orders.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED

Experience: (5) Years of Water/Wastewater integration experience required

Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

Certification(s): PMP or similar project management certification is a plus

Abilities: Candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective teams and working relationships. Should possess strong leadership abilities. Exceptional organization skills, communication abilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage programs are essential to this position. Must have the ability to effectively present information to senior management and other groups; strong verbal and written English communication skills are mandatory.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General working environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is primarily conducted indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Occasional visits to SOFFA manufacturing locations, client offices, and jobsites.
  • Noise level is typically low to medium in office; it can be loud in the manufacturing area and on jobsites.
