Job description

Position Summary

The Quality Manager supports the mission and vision of Medical Associates Plus by coordinating, implementing, and monitoring clinical quality improvement activities across provider and practice sites. This position works closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Quality leadership, and clinical operations teams to support quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) efforts.

The Quality Manager assists with the organization’s Quality Improvement, Risk Management, and Infection Control programs by monitoring performance measures, analyzing clinical data, supporting compliance activities, and helping develop strategies to improve patient outcomes. This role collaborates with clinical and operational teams to promote high-quality patient care and ensure compliance with Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program requirements, FTCA, PCMH, and other applicable healthcare regulations.


Responsibilities and Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and leadership team to support achievement of Quality Performance Measures, FTCA, PCMH, and organizational quality goals.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the organization’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program, including quality improvement initiatives, utilization management, and risk management activities.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities for improvement through data analysis, audits, performance measures, and staff feedback.
  • Educate staff and providers regarding quality improvement processes, compliance requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Coordinate quality improvement projects across clinical and operational departments.
  • Assist with preparing quality reports, presentations, and updates for leadership, committees, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support scheduling, coordination, documentation, and reporting of peer reviews and quality-related activities.
  • Assist with clinical safety and risk management initiatives, including review and maintenance of safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Clinical and Operations Managers to address patient complaints, quality concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison between providers, clinical teams, and internal departments regarding quality initiatives.
  • Participate in quality committees, including CQI and Risk Management meetings.
  • Assist with monitoring compliance with clinical regulatory standards, including HRSA Health Center Program requirements, FTCA, PCMH, CLIA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Support the Infection Control program through policy review, staff education, audits, and compliance monitoring.
  • Assist with monitoring clinical supplies, vaccines, and safety requirements across sites.
  • Support the QI Committee by tracking action items, monitoring corrective actions, and following up on improvement plans.
  • Maintain and update clinical policies, procedures, and quality-related documentation.
  • Monitor adherence to clinical protocols and evidence-based practices.
  • Collect, analyze, and report clinical performance data for UDS reporting, HRSA requirements, and organizational quality initiatives.
  • Assist with completion of clinical components of the UDS report, including data validation, reporting, and participation in related trainings.
  • Monitor documentation and compliance related to sample medications, EHR entries, and required tracking logs.
  • Assist with FTCA application preparation and required documentation submission.
  • Support maintenance and optimization of eClinicalWorks templates, alerts, and workflows to promote compliance with ACO, PCMH, SAC, NAP, Medicare, and other quality initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining PCMH recognition requirements across organizational sites.
  • Support care coordination efforts, including care transitions and post-discharge follow-up processes.
  • Participate in quality-related orientation and training for new employees.
  • Serve as a support resource for emergency preparedness and disaster response activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patients, employees, and organizational information.
  • Uphold Medical Associates Plus’ Mission, Values, and Standards of Conduct.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with providers, clinical staff, leadership, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement principles and performance improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and present healthcare data.
  • Understanding of federal and state healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of primary care operations, patient safety, and evidence-based practices.
  • Familiarity with FQHC operations, HRSA requirements, FTCA, PCMH, UDS reporting, and quality measures preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and employee safety practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, especially eClinicalWorks, preferred.

Education and Licensure Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Quality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Clinical background or healthcare quality certification preferred.

Experience

  • Experience working in healthcare quality improvement, compliance, clinical operations, or related healthcare setting required.
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting preferred.
  • Experience with quality reporting, audits, performance measures, and regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Experience working with electronic health records, particularly eClinicalWorks, preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
