Powersports R&D Engine Development Manager Description 

FMF Racing, one of the most recognized names in off-road motorcycle performance, is seeking a scrappy, resourceful, and hands-on R&D/Engine Development Manager to lead its Research & Development department. For over 50 years, FMF Racing has built a reputation for designing and manufacturing American-made, race-proven exhaust systems trusted by professional racers and powersports enthusiasts around the world. In this highly visible leadership role, you'll drive the development of FMF Racing's next generation of high-performance exhaust systems, bridging the gap between concept, prototyping, testing, and production. Working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with minimal red tape, you'll collaborate closely with engineering, fabrication, production, and racing teams to transform innovative ideas into championship-winning products. The ideal candidate has strong expertise with 2-stroke and 4-stroke internal combustion engines, prototype development, metal fabrication, and performance tuning. This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on the products that define one of the industry's most iconic performance brands.

Powersports R&D Engine Development Manager Responsibilities  

•    Lead the design, development, and testing of performance exhaust systems 
•    Collaborate with Engineering and Production to bring prototypes into full-scale manufacturing
•    Tune, evaluate, and refine exhaust performance through dyno testing and real-world validation
•    Partner with race teams and sponsored riders to optimize power, sound, and reliability
•    Identify and resolve technical challenges during design and production
•    Oversee prototype fabrication and coordinate with machinists, welders, and technicians
•    Ensure all R&D efforts uphold high standards for precision, quality, and innovation

Powersports R&D Engine Development Manager Qualifications  

•    Experience in exhaust or engine development (motorcycle, ATV, UTV, snowmobile, or marine) required
•    Hands-on experience with 2-stroke and 4-stroke internal combustion engines required
•    Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills required 
•    Experience with dyno testing, CAD tools, and airflow analysis required
