POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Performance Coach is responsible for but not limited to: assisting in program operation, program development and growth, and participant satisfaction. To plan and deliver group membership classes and training sessions that engages the athlete and moves them positively toward their desired goals. Responsible for building rapport with parents of the athletes trained on a regular basis to keep them informed and continually renewing participation in Parisi Speed School programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Ambassador of Parisi Speed School by conducting classes, partnered training, and personal training sessions with athletes and regularly communicate with parents of athletes progress.
  2. Builds strong relationships with participants and parents by modeling welcoming, motivating and affirming behavior.
  3. Demonstrate a safety-first approach for all interactions and sessions.
  4. Celebrates achievement of program participants related to program and person goals, mastering specific skills or improving overall health and well-being.
  5. Creates session guides for athletes to meet personal goals in accordance to their age and abilities, modifying as needed to meet the needs of the participants.
  6. Keeps accurate class attendance records, aiming for continual retention and growth. Obtain roster of paid participants at the beginning of session and inform supervisor of any discrepancies.
  7. Ensures completion of daily equipment checks and completes daily cleaning tasks. Reports any damaged equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Employee Orientation.
  2. Must obtain Parisi Speed School certification within designated timeframe and maintain it every two years.
  3. High School or College Athlete preferred as experience with skills and abilities for performance.
  4. Must be available to work evenings and weekends, as most participants are grade school students.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  7. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  8. Must have a passion for learning, working with youth/families, and sports in general.
  9. Desire and ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds
