  • The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is one of the largest charities in the DC area. The Y serves as an anchor in the community offering programs and services encompassing youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
    Location: YMCA at KIPP DC (various locations)
    Compensation: $18.40 - $23.00 per hour
    Schedule: Part-Time | Mornings/Evening Hours | School Year
    The YMCA at KIPP DC is hiring dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Group Leaders for our School Age Child Care program. This is a meaningful opportunity to positively impact children's lives in a supportive and collaborative afterschool environment.
    What You'll Do
    • Lead and supervise engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
    • Design lesson plans and classroom routines that spark curiosity and learning
    • Mentor and support Group Leaders in their daily responsibilities
    • Communicate clearly and professionally with families and leadership
    • Monitor safety, attendance, and behavior to ensure a thriving environment
    • Build meaningful, trusting relationships with young children

    What You Bring
    • 2+ years of experience working with children ages 3-10 in licensed or educational settings
    • High school diploma/GED required; CDA or early childhood coursework preferred
    • Strong classroom management and communication skills
    • CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for children of all abilities

    Schedule
    • Monday-Friday
    • Before Care: 6:30am-8:00am (optional)
    • After Care: 2:30pm-6:30pm
