Job description

Summary:
Provides overall supervision of the daily activities of the Climbing Wall to provide a safe climbing environment for members and guests.
Variable schedule to include day, evening and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities:
1. Attends all staff and area meetings. Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner. Represents the facility while on duty.
2. Daily customer contact and interaction while resolving customer satisfaction issues in a timely manner. Maintain professional standards among clients.
3. Demonstrate proficiency in climbing techniques, including harness use and fitting, belaying, tying in, spotting and use of climbing equipment.
4. Enforces climbing wall policies, procedures and safety standards. Ensures climbing wall areas are maintained in a safe, clean, presentable manner. Ensure all participants have a current Release and Waiver form on file.
5. Provides instruction during class programs including Orientation, Bouldering, Top Rope, Auto Belay and Rappel. Provides instructions in climbing techniques and proper use of equipment. Administers all tests, including Bouldering, Top Rope and Belay.
Prefer:
  • Climbing Wall Instructor certification Level 1 preferred
  • Experience with belaying climbers
  • Ability to work well with youth and adults

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
โ€ข First Aid certificate within one (1) year from date of hire.
โ€ข Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within one (1) year from date of hire.
Professional Experience Requirements:
โ€ข Previous indoor climbing experience preferred.
