The position offers long‑term project viability, with opportunities to support additional substation, distribution, and transmission line work based on performance and the strong project backlog.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all phases of substation construction and commissioning for a large, multi‑year project.
  • Lead and coordinate subcontractor crews of up to approximately 25 people to safely and efficiently build the substation.
  • Drive subcontractor performance to meet production, quality, safety, and schedule targets.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with project contracts, standards, and specifications.

  • Conduct regular construction meetings with subcontractors, project team members, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with the project team and stakeholders throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
  • Coordinate with project management to align field activities with overall project plans and milestones.

  • Proficiency with computer skills required for reporting, documentation, and communication.
  • Strong reporting skills, including preparation of standardized progress and performance reports.
  • Experience managing construction during both construction and commissioning phases.
  • Capability to ensure subcontractors execute work in accordance with safety, quality, reporting, contract, standards, change management, risk management, and schedule requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Substation Construction Management experience, with potential for 5 or more years of ongoing project work depending on performance and backlog.
  • Experience working on Entergy system projects or similar utility environments is a plus.
  • Background in transmission line (t‑line) construction and related electrical infrastructure is beneficial.
  • Project management experience in construction, particularly within electrical and power delivery projects.
  • Strong safety focus with experience implementing and monitoring safety programs on construction sites.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or phases of work over an extended backlog of substation and distribution projects.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting construction meetings and delivering clear, concise updates to stakeholders.
Work Environment

This role is field‑based and centered on an active substation construction site in Waverly, Texas. The project is slated to last at least 2+ years, with the potential to extend to multiple years due to additional substation, distribution, and transmission projects in the backlog.
