Description

AMI is seeking a Per Diem CT Technologist to join the team in the AMI @ Inspira offices. This is a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient radiology practice.

AMI offers the 401K retirement benefit to Per Diem employees. Offered rates increase based on years of work experience.

The responsibilities of the CT Technologist include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs all computerized axial tomography examinations in accordance with departmental policies, as scheduled and upon demand.
  • Perform additional functions including image reconstruction, archiving, filming and other software functions as directed by the Radiologist or as per standard departmental policy; and

  • Reviews all patients' script requests for diagnostic procedures to confirm appropriate anatomical site and relevant clinical history.
  • Provides clear procedural instructions, addresses patient questions, and obtains informed consent through effective communication and proper documentation.
  • Accurately positions patients to ensure targeted anatomy is at isocenter and fully captured, minimizing repeat scans and radiation exposure.
  • Prepares patients and initiates IV lines for contrast administration in accordance with departmental protocols, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency.
  • Ensures radiologists are present on-site prior to contrast or medication administration, in accordance with departmental policy.
  • Administers radiocontrast per policy, ensures correct dosage and safe administration to enhance visualization of internal structures during imaging procedures.
  • Maintains continuous observation of patients receiving contrast, communicates concerns to the radiologist, and upholds strict patient privacy standards.
  • Reviews all studies for image quality prior to patient departure from the scanning table to ensure diagnostic accuracy and minimize repeat scans.
  • Consistently respects and safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and institutional policies.
  • Provides exceptional patient care, ensuring comfort, safety, and professionalism throughout all procedures.
  • Become familiar with and respond to all office emergency codes for the overall safety and security of patients, employees, visitors and physical environment.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Properly wipe down and thoroughly disinfect equipment after each patient.
  • Operates CT equipment with advanced technical proficiency, applying ALARA principles and optimizing scanning techniques, software, and hardware to ensure high-quality imaging and efficient workflow.
  • Performs quality control testing, equipment calibrations, and start-up/shutdown procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Quality Assurance Responsibilities, conducts daily and monthly QA procedures with proper documentation, ensuring all values meet manufacturer specifications and comply with state guidelines. Immediately notifies the CT Lead and initiates service calls if any values fall outside acceptable limits.
  • Troubleshoots scanner malfunctions per manufacturer's instructions, places service call when needed and documents these events in service logbook.
  • Maintains established work schedules to ensure efficient availability of this imaging service.
  • Ensures accurate and thorough completion of all patient documentation per departmental standards.
  • Manages daily work schedules, completing all required documentation in RIS, PACS, and required forms; monitors patient flow and accommodates unscheduled and add-on studies.
  • Reviews and scrubs schedules in advance to verify exam accuracy and support efficient imaging workflow.
  • Maintains daily inventory of medical and departmental supplies to ensure efficient operations. Notifies the Offices Administrator or Chief Technologist promptly regarding the need to order non-stock items and completes weekly inventory worksheets.
  • Performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This Per Diem position will provide coverage as needed, Monday-Friday, in the Mullica Hill, Woolwich Township, and Sicklerville offices. Scheduling is based on department needs and employee's availability.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position must be a graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program with current NJ license; registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and CT ARRT Board Certified. Knowledge of and proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy is required. American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross CPR/BLS certification is required prior to the start of employment. Previous experience or certification in venipuncture preferred for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. If not currently trained/certified must be willing to obtain. In-house training will be provided.
