Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time Cardiac Sonographer 2 to join its Cardiology Diagnostics Department.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Harborview Medical Center-Cardiology Diagnostics Department is seeking a skilled and motivated Cardiac Sonographer 2 to join our Echo Lab team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sonographer who is passionate about high-quality cardiac imaging, patient care, and working in a collaborative academic inpatient and outpatient medical environment.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies including transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE), and treadmill stress echocardiography (TME).
  • Assist physicians during transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures.
  • Acquire and optimize high-quality cardiac images using advanced ultrasound technology while tailoring each study to the patient's clinical condition.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
  • Perform accurate measurements and calculations and document findings in preliminary echocardiography reports.
  • Utilize EPIC and IntelliSpace Cardiovascular systems for documentation and image management.
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists and the care team to ensure accurate diagnostic imaging and high standards of patient care.
  • Participate in the training and mentorship of ultrasound students from CAAHEP-accredited programs and cardiology fellows when applicable.
  • Contribute to Echo Lab quality initiatives and approved research projects.
  • Maintain professional certification and remain current with advances in cardiac sonography through continuing education.
  • Participate in Echo Lab staff meetings, Saturday shift rotation, and on-call coverage.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • 2+ years of experience as Cardiac Sonographer 1
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
