Job description

Tax Staff Accountant Location: Rochester, NY office. *Work where you do your best work. At Insero, you can choose to be in the office daily or work in a hybrid schedule of up to 3 remote days per week, depending on workload and office needs.

*Our office is located in the heart of downtown Rochester. There is easy access to great restaurants and events, and featured amenities such as collaboration spaces, game room and firm paid for underground parking in a secure garage. We also have comfortable break rooms fully stocked with complimentary drinks and snacks.

We are seeking to hire a Tax Staff Accountant to join our growing practice with flexible start date options: August or September 2026 or January 2027. This is a full-time position with our firm based in our Rochester, NY office. Responsibilities: The responsibilities and requirements associated with the position include but are not limited to: Preparing complex 1040's, high net worth individual returns and business income tax returns (Small business, Partnerships, S-Corps, C-Corps) Learning the software, processes and procedures to efficiently complete assignments Preparing tax projections to assist clients in implementing tax strategies Developing tax research and writing skills Maintaining strong working relationships with clients and internal team members Developing the skills for basic tax research projects.

Developing an understanding of tax software for compliance. Requirements Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (Masters in Tax is a plus) in accounting and CPA license or progress towards license is required. For this role we would look for 0-1+ years tax/audit experience working within a public accounting firm.

Internship experience involving auditing or tax preparation experience is also a plus. Basic knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications is required. Salary Information: In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the base pay range for this position is $60,000 - $64,000 annually.

Please keep in mind that this range is base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position such as eligibility to receive discretionary spot bonus incentives. This range is a reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and/or education and geographic location.

It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the capabilities and experience of the candidate.
