Facility Description:
Wonderful opportunity to join the clinical staff of Paragon Surgery Center. We are a brand new,
family oriented, growing, physician-owned ambulatory surgery center (ASC). The facility is
conveniently located in beautiful San Luis Obispo - CA, by the airport. The Center has two
operating rooms and 5 pre-op / PACU bays. Patient care is provided in an environment that is
safe, comfortable and caring, which makes us the partner of choice for surgical care on the
Central Coast. We specialize in the following areas of practice:
â—Ź Ophthalmology
â—Ź Pain Management
â—Ź Cardiology
â—Ź Plastics
We are seeking an experienced registered nurse for a per diem position. Prior ASC experience
preferred.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
The per diem registered nurse works under the direct supervision of the administrator and
nursing supervisor and functions as a member of the ASC. Position will provide professional
perioperative nursing care (preop, post op and/or intraop). Duties will include:
â—Ź Monitoring vital signs
â—Ź Observe and record patient behavior
â—Ź Collect patient health history
â—Ź Administering medications
â—Ź Circulate in the OR
â—Ź Counsel and educate patients on treatment plans
â—Ź Providing support to patients and their families
â—Ź Monitors and evaluates cost effective practices within the ASC
â—Ź Demonstrates a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the workplace
â—Ź Contributes to the positive atmosphere of the workplace
â—Ź Willing to train
â—Ź Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
â—Ź Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
â—Ź Current state license as Registered Nurse (RN)
â—Ź One (1) year of nursing experience in an ambulatory surgery center preferred
â—Ź CPR certification and/or ACLS-PALS certification
â—Ź Critical thinking skills
â—Ź Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting,
kneeling, moving lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
