A Per Diem Parkview RN is a registered nurse who works on an as-needed basis at Parkview Health or its affiliated facilities. 'Per diem' means 'per day,' so these nurses do not have a set schedule but fill in shifts based on staffing needs, often covering for full-time staff who are on leave or during busy periods. This role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to gain experience in various departments, but does not typically include benefits such as health insurance or paid time off. Per diem RNs must maintain the same licensing and competency standards as full-time staff. This position is ideal for nurses seeking flexibility in their work-life balance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Per Diem Parkview RN?

To thrive as a Per Diem Parkview RN, you need a valid RN license, comprehensive clinical knowledge, and the ability to adapt quickly to different units and patient needs. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and hospital protocols is typically required, along with certifications like BLS and ACLS. Excellent communication, flexibility, and strong organizational skills set outstanding per diem nurses apart. These skills are crucial to ensure high-quality patient care, seamless teamwork, and adaptability in a variety of fast-paced clinical environments.
