Job description

Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute (OCSRI) invites you to join a powerful team of cancer experts who invest in the health and well-being of patients through their course of treatment and beyond. The successful candidate will pursue advanced and innovative treatments in a team setting. Such treatments achieve the goal of offering care customized to each patient’s needs. OCSRI ensures that world class care is close to home as the largest cancer care provider in the Northeastern Oklahoma region. OCSRI’s main campus is located in Tulsa, OK, with 1 satellite clinic in a town surrounding Tulsa.

All OCSRI facilities use CMS Monaco for treatment planning, Mosaiq’s R&V system and Elekta linacs to deliver treatment; each site can sim patients and is attached to a full medical oncology suite. The main campus offers additional treatment options including nuclear medicine, a full imaging suite, an HDR suite and Precision treatment planning for Tomotherapy. 5 linear accelerators are housed at the main campus, including 2 Tomotherapy units, 3 Elekta units (1 Infinity, 2 Versa HD (SRS/SBRT capable)) and a dedicated HDR suite utilizing Flexitron and Oncentra planning.

The successful applicant will join a team consisting of 4 radiation oncologists, 7 dosimetrists, 3 physicists, 1 medical physics assistant and 22 therapists. The department adopts new technology readily and listens to great ideas no matter what their origin. If you want to work where your efforts make a difference in how patients receive treatment, OCSRI is the place for you.

Experience with technology in our clinics, while helpful, is not explicitly required. The team at OCSRI can train any qualified physicist to utilize all software and equipment.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess at least a master’s degree in physics or medical physics from an accredited university and graduated from CAMPEP medical physics residency program. A minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience (including residency training time), ABR board eligible is required.

Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute is an EEO employer. We offer an excellent Benefits Package which includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off (PTO) and 10 holidays per year.

Tulsa is located at green country valley in northeastern Oklahoma; it has distinct weather for all four seasons. The city has grown and expanded significantly in recent years and is truly a great place to raise a family.
