Per diem healthcare contracting refers to temporary work agreements where healthcare professionals, such as nurses or therapists, are hired to work on an as-needed basis. These contracts typically offer flexible scheduling and pay by the day or shift, rather than a fixed salary. Per diem workers help healthcare facilities manage fluctuating patient loads and fill staffing gaps quickly. This type of arrangement can provide professionals with greater flexibility and higher hourly rates, but may not offer benefits like health insurance or paid time off.
