In your role as an Engineering Geologist at Mi-Tech, you'll perform field explorations, collect samples, geologic reconnaissance, mapping, and preparing field reports.  You will organize laboratory data, conduct/ review limited soil index property laboratory testing and report data.  You will interpret data, prepare geological subsurface logs, profiles, design cross-sections, profiles, and assist in preparation of design reports.

What It Takes

  • BS and/or MS Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology.
  • 2 years of experience as a Geologist, including soil sampling in accordance with USCS standards and some testing experience.
  • Have taken or preparing to take Professional Geologist exam.
  • Experience in geologic interpretation using soil and rock samples retrieved from explorations, soil classifications.
  • Experience with application to geotechnical engineering practice is a plus (rock mechanics experience a plus)
  • The ability to work independently with the appropriate level of minimal supervision. 
  • The willingness and ability to travel to support project needs.
  • A valid driver license and insurable driving record. 
  • Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel (required); RSLog (geotechnical borehole logging, or similar), MS Access (desirable). 
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying 50+ pounds. 
  • Working in all weather conditions, on uneven terrain. 
  • The ability to travel (drive or fly) to field sites per project needs and job sites locally and across the United States.
