Nurse Supervisor is under the general direction and reports to the Vice President of Nursing, and is responsible for providing leadership on the off shifts in accordance with Dominican Hospital policies and procedures. ALL REGISTERED NURSES will render professional nursing care to patients, support medical care as directed by physicians. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity/Dominican Hospital. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The RN shall support Dignity/Dominican Hospital's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities and patient satisfaction

  • Ensures Staffing Levels are maintained as measured by productivity and/or unit acuity and ratio
  • Utilizes Teletracking to monitor patient flow
  • Coordinates hospital response to internal & external disasters
  • Maintains standard for communication within department
  • Acts as an education resource, assisting with mandatory educational programs and providing instruction to nursing staff in the use of the Res-Q staffing and acuity systems
  • Acts as a resource for Hospital Policies & Procedures
Job Requirements

Required:

  • Associate Of Nursing, upon hire or
  • Minimum five years clinical nursingpractice 
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire 
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months


Preferred:

  • Bachelors Of Nursing and Prior management experience, upon hire
