Job description

Cardiology Stress Lab Nurse

This position will prepare, supervise, perform and monitor patients during stress tests. Must have ability to evaluate EKG rhythm and respond to emergent situation. Must be a self motivated individual willing to take charge of a growing cardiology stress lab. Qualification include current ACLS, experience with advanced rhythm analysis with a patient centered approach. In addition to Stress testing this position will operate the Coumadin Clinic by evaluating patients labs test and communicating changes to there medications as needed. Records will be maintained on each patient. Participates in performance improvement activities in the hospital.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Communicates patients rhythm changes to the ordering Physician.
  • Providing education to the patient and family members: Includes ensuring the patient and family members understand the procedure and plan of care before signing procedural consent and providing them with discharge planning/instructions.
  • Inserting and removing intravenous lines.
  • Administering medications including moderate sedation.
