Per Diem Pharmacist – Infusion Specialty

About Us

Vital Care of Palmdale is a specialty infusion pharmacy serving patients throughout the Antelope Valley. We deliver home and outpatient infusion therapies, including antibiotics, biologics, IVIG, and nutrition support. Our care model is patient-centered, clinician-driven, and built on close collaboration with providers and nursing partners to ensure clinical excellence.
Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Per Diem Pharmacist to provide clinical and dispensing coverage on an as-needed basis. This opportunity is ideal for a pharmacist with infusion or specialty pharmacy experience who is looking for flexible scheduling while remaining actively engaged in direct patient care and clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

  • Verify and process infusion and specialty medication orders in compliance with California Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Perform clinical review for therapy appropriateness, drug interactions, dosing, and patient-specific parameters
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, prescribers, and insurance/prior authorization teams
  • Compound and/or verify compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) in accordance with USP <797> and <800> standards
  • Provide patient counseling and education related to infusion therapies
  • Maintain accurate dispensing documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support ACHC accreditation standards and internal policies and procedures
Qualifications

  • Active California Pharmacist license (RPh or PharmD) in good standing
  • Minimum 1 year pharmacist experience required; infusion, home infusion, or specialty pharmacy experience preferred
  • Familiarity with USP <797> sterile compounding requirements
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Compensation & Schedule

  • $75.00 – $80.00 per hour (DOE)
  • Per diem, non-benefited contract role
  • Shifts offered on an as-needed basis, with advance scheduling when possible
  • On-site position in Palmdale, CA
