Job description

Colorectal Surgeon – Job Summary

Beacon Medical Group seeks a full‑time, Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible, fellowship‑trained Colorectal Surgeon for its South Bend, Indiana practice. The position offers two basic models: a focused colon and rectal surgery practice (endoscopy, minimally invasive, elective and emergency cases) or a balanced mix of colorectal and general surgery cases (60/40) gradually shifting to a colorectal emphasis. The surgeon will be part of a team of 13 surgeons and advanced practice providers, collaborating closely with Gastroenterology and other multidisciplinary specialists.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a range of colon and rectal surgical procedures, including endoscopy and minimally invasive techniques.
  • Provide elective, ambulatory, and emergency care within the colorectal specialty.
  • Participate in weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards and case conferences.
  • Engage in research initiatives and contribute to clinical studies.
  • Teach and supervise residents, medical students, and other post‑graduate trainees.
  • Share on‑call duties on a 1:5 weekday and weekend rotation, coordinated with general surgery partners.
  • Conduct 36 patient‑contact hours per week in a full‑time, 1.0 FTE capacity.

Schedule & Call
