Job description

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Load Builder

EMPLOYER: Nackard Pepsi, Flagstaff AZ

DEPARTMENT: Warehouse

REPORTS TO: Warehouse Supervisor

EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon Hire

POSITION: Full Time, Seasonal, on-site, hourly, starting pay $19/hr, additional incentive offered

SUMMARY:

This position operates from handheld computer system to build loads for transport, bulk and/or route trucks, using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. Each type of loading requires strict attention to order accuracy, on what is unloaded from incoming trucks.

SCHEDULE: 

  • Full-Time, Seasonal, 32-40hrs/wk
  • Monday-Friday, 10am-completion (30 min lunch).
  • Flexibility for up to 13-hour shifts (seasonally)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Picking: Selecting designated packages and flavors of product from the warehouse and then loading them onto a pallet.
  • Must be able to lift product repeatedly, weighing as much as 50 pounds during a 10-13 hour work period (seasonally).
  • Requires constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping as you move product
  • Work safely and apply all safety requirements as defined by management personnel
  • Organize and clean work area
  • Refer to handheld computer system to plan approach to building the order
  • Build load: Drive hi-lift to picking area and build pallet
  • Finish load: Wrap pallet when complete
  • Turn in paperwork with order for check before placing pallet in loading staging area
  • Responsible for maintaining the stability of the pallet by properly stacking and shrink wrapping the built pallet.
  • Unload returned product and pallets/plastic flats
  • Ensures cleanliness, tidiness and safety of work environment.
  • Communicate errors to relevant parties.
  • Stores inventory in an accessible manner.
  • Builds loads with forklift and electronic pallet jack.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations:
    • Required in-house Forklift Certification provided
    • Experience preferred
  • Computer skills:
    • Database Software (ADP)
    • Electronic Mail Software (Outlook)
    • Inventory Software (Easy Ops/VIP)
  • Other skills required:
    • Work experience as a general laborer, preferably in a warehouse.
    • Ability to operate a forklift proficiently.
    • Completion of background investigation and drug screening.
    • Strong people skills.
    • Good moral character.
    • Physically strong, agile and dexterous, and undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions.
    • Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.
    • Available to work extended hours.
