Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is hiring a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class B Driver to help transport food and other essential products throughout eastern Wisconsin.
In this role, you will operate straight trucks on local and regional routes, pick up donations, deliver food to community partners, and support the safe and accurate movement of inventory between our facilities and throughout our service area.
This is an active driving position that includes loading, unloading, product handling, and occasional warehouse support. You will return home at the end of your scheduled workday, with no routine overnight travel.

What You Will Do
  • Safely operate CDL Class B straight trucks and other authorized company vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations, traffic laws, and organizational policies.
  • Pick up, transport, and deliver donated food and other products to donors, partner agencies, warehouses, and designated locations.
  • Complete local and regional routes throughout Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin's service area.
  • Build positive relationships with donors, community partners, volunteers, and other individuals encountered along assigned routes.
  • Inspect donated products and communicate concerns related to product condition, food safety, or suitability.
  • Verify product counts and complete required documentation during pickups, deliveries, loading, and unloading.
  • Load, unload, secure, and transport products using pallet jacks, forklifts, electric pallet riders, liftgates, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Complete driver logs, trip records, bills of lading, vehicle inspection reports, fuel receipts, and other required records.
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Keep company vehicles, equipment, and cargo clean, safe, secured, and protected.
  • Support warehouse operations as needed, including staging, product movement, inventory activities, and general warehouse assistance.
  • Follow all food safety, workplace safety, DOT, OSHA, and organizational policies and procedures.

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Valid CDL Class B license for vehicles greater than 26,000 pounds
  • Air-brake qualification
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Ability to successfully complete a DOT physical, drug screening, background check, and other required pre-employment screenings
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification within 10 days of hire
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to accurately complete driver logs, bills of lading, manifests, and other transportation documents
  • Knowledge of city, county, and state road systems
  • Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service
  • Ability to communicate professionally with donors, partners, employees, volunteers, and community members
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism during challenging situations
  • Willingness to occasionally adjust scheduled hours to support donor pickups, deliveries, special events, emergency response efforts, or other operational needs

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous commercial driving, food distribution, delivery, warehouse, or logistics experience
  • Experience operating straight trucks, liftgates, forklifts, and pallet jacks
  • Experience completing multi-stop local or regional delivery routes
  • Knowledge of southeastern or northeastern Wisconsin roads and communities

Physical and Working Conditions
This is an active driving and material-handling position. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, reach, kneel, squat, and use their hands to handle tools, equipment, and products.
The employee must be able to:
  • Lift and move at least 50 pounds
  • Safely enter and exit commercial vehicles throughout the workday
  • Load, unload, secure, and move products
  • Work in warehouse, refrigerated, and freezer environments ranging from approximately -10 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Work in environments with moderate to high noise levels
  • Wear close-toed shoes and appropriate protective or cold-weather clothing
