All interested applicants for a Non-CDL Driver position, including those applicants that are fully qualified with appropriate license and endorsements, begin with us as a Driver in Training. The best-trained drivers in the business work for us because we devote a significant amount of resources, training, and development to our employees.

A Driver in Training will be trained by our staff to obtain appropriate Driver endorsement(s), where applicable, and to learn our Company policies and procedures. Upon successful completion of the training program all necessary requirements for the position, the Driver In Training will be placed in Non-CDL Driver role.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Provides safe and reliable transportation service by operating a school bus or other location specific vehicleĀ with a fixed or changing route.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Exhibits the highest ethical best practices and personal integrity; Shares concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with their supervisor or manager
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Reports to duty on time and maintains route on time but in a safe manner.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Physically assists passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Immediately reports any accident or incident per Company policy.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Follows Company Policy around student and/or passenger management.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Informs all appropriate personnel of problems/procedures.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Presents a neat and professional personal appearance at all times.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Completes all required paperwork (including route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) and submits to the appropriate authority in a timely manner.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Maintains a cooperative attitude with fellow employees, supervisors, customers, and passengers while always promoting company goodwill.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Safely and efficiently utilizesĀ vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios and emergency equipment.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Other duties as assigned.
  • Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Additional responsibilities for our Paratransit Drivers may apply per locationĀ 

Hourly rate for non-CDL Drivers is 21.96

Qualifications


Requirements Include:

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Must be at least 21 years of age; for Tennessee School Bus Drivers, must be at least 25 years of age per state law.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, all valid applicable state license and other required certifications to operate company vehicles.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Must practice defensive driving at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, district, and contract specific Driver requirements.
