Job description

PACKAGING MANAGER


Job Summary:

The Packaging Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all packaging operations to ensure efficient, consistent, and high-quality product output. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving to maintain safety, quality, and production standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and supervise packaging leads and team members to ensure efficient daily operations and adherence to performance expectations.
  • Oversee packaging line setup, operation, and workflow to ensure timely and accurate completion of production orders.
  • Verify that all labeling, packaging, and finished goods meet customer specifications and purchase order requirements.
  • Coordinate with production, quality assurance, and other departments to align packaging schedules and priorities.
  • Train and develop packaging employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Monitor packaging material inventory levels and coordinate ordering to prevent shortages or delays.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve packaging issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Manage staffing schedules, shift coverage, and attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Oversee completion and disposition of work orders and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Hours: Monday- Friday (7am-3pm)


Pay:

The starting hourly rate is $23, could differ based on qualifications and experience.
