Job Title: People Coordinator
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: Regional Senior People Manager
Status: Exempt
Salary: $70304
Broad Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Coordinator to support our dynamic restaurant concession operations across multiple airport locations. This role is essential in managing the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through separation while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong organizational skills, and demonstrate a passion for supporting our diverse workforce in the unique airport hospitality environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the TA team and managers to recruit and hire restaurant staff
2. Manage airport security clearance processes and background checks
3. Assist with new hire orientations and complete onboarding documentation
4. Serve as first contact for employee questions about policies and benefits
5. Support conflict resolution and disciplinary processes
6. Assist with workplace investigations and maintain confidential files
7. Ensure compliance with labor laws and airport regulations
8. Process employment verifications and unemployment claims
9. Help employees with benefits enrollment and changes
10. Support payroll processing
11. Coordinate workers' compensation and FMLA cases
12. Support open enrollment
13. Track training completion and maintain certification records
14. Coordinate airport-required security and emergency training
15. Support performance reviews and development programs
16. Support HR projects and policy updates
17. Assist with employee events and recognition programs
18. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years HR experience, preferably in hospitality or multi-location operations
• Restaurant/food service experience strongly preferred
• HRIS systems experience (ADP preferred)
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Knowledge of employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Flexibility in fast-paced environment
