Job description

The Intermediate Structural Engineer supports the design and execution of the structural designs for industrial projects and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign steel and concrete structures and foundations for industrial systems.Develop conceptual designs resulting in optimal layouts and reduced costs.Review and provide structural input on mechanical drawings, layouts, and vendor proposals.Prepare calculations, hand and /or CAD sketches, and direct designers in developing project drawings.Review structural shop drawings and provide engineering support during construction.Participate in project meetings and coordinate with internal teams.Travel to project sites as neededLeadership ResponsibilitiesLead portions of projects by developing the designs and coordinating with engineers and 3D designers.Under the direction of the Chief Engineer; lead assigned projects as the Structural Lead Engineer.Review work (calculations, models, drawings) and provide feedback.Responsible for the quality of assigned projects, including adherence to PENTA standards, budgets and schedule.Assist with estimates and change orders.Act as Engineer of Record (as licensed) and support department management when needed.QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering5 to 10 years of experience in structural engineering (industrial project experience preferred)Professional Engineer (PE) license required or must be actively pursuingGood knowledge of current codes - AISC (Steel), ACI (Concrete), and ASCE 7 Good knowledge of SAP2000, RISA-3D and STAAD.ProWorking knowledge of Revit for BIM coordinationCompany Benefits:Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance package including Long Term Disability & Basic Life / AD&D coverage.401(k) Plan with Company match.Profit sharing Three weeks (prorated first year) Paid Time Off (PTO).
