About the role
As a Consulting Principal - Insurance Consulting (Retirement & Pension), you will make an impact by helping retirement and pension clients transform their businesses across strategy, operating model, processes, and technology. You will be a valued member of the Cognizant Consulting Insurance Practice and work collaboratively with client leaders, project stakeholders, and internal consulting teams to deliver value-additive consulting engagements and build long-term trusted relationships.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead and deliver retirement and pension consulting engagements by assessing client maturity and helping transform business and operating models
  • Partner with client and Cognizant leadership to plan, scope, and execute value-additive consulting projects while managing engagement economics
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to retirement and pension clients, building strong, ethical, and long-standing working relationships
  • Support business development activities including upsell opportunities and management of RFI/RFP responses
  • Coach, develop, and inspire consulting teams while ensuring quality, relevance, and consistency of client deliverables

What you must have to be considered
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field
  • Approximately 15+ years of experience in the retirement and pension industry
  • Hands-on experience across retirement and pension offerings such as defined contribution (DC), defined benefit (DB), annuities, NQDC, COLI, or pension risk transfer
  • Strong ethics and work ethic, with a proven track record of building trusted client relationships
  • Ability to translate client objectives into clear scope and executable tasks
  • Proven people leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop teams
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

These will help you succeed
  • Advanced degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to serve as a thought leader in retirement and pension industry best practices
  • Experience creating consulting mindshare such as white papers, points-of-view, and case studies
  • Experience building reusable consulting assets and practice capabilities
  • Strong presence as a people leader who motivates teams and supports career development

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
