JMT's Allentown, PA Construction Management Team is seeking qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisors for highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects within the PennDOT's District 5-0 region (Lehigh, Berks, Carbon, Monroe, and Schuylkill Counties).

The successful candidate will supervise standard inspection procedures of construction activities on behalf of our clients (primarily PennDOT) for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations
  • Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards
  • Oversee, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases
  • Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes
  • Makes field notes and computations
  • Work on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues
  • Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials
  • Gathers and maintains project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems)
  • Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries
