Job description

Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm. overtime as needed
Position Summary: Perform complex set-ups and operate a variety of machines, which may include but not limited to manual punch press, sanding equipment, shears, saws, drill press, timesaver, wash and tumbler.

Essential Functions:
• Operate assigned machines with maximum efficiency
• Sets up, operates, monitors, and cleans the process equipment to achieve production, yield, and quality targets
• Move and position material so the machine can properly perform operation required
• Cut, bend, and shape metal as a part of the pre-assembly process
• Responsible for set-up and quality
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operation difficulties involving area equipment
• Perform inspections on parts to ensure they meet mechanical tolerances and engineering specifications
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and maintains a clean working environment
• Work individually or team operate machines
• Train on and operate a variety of machines based on production demands, including but not limited to: punch press, press brake, plasma cutting machine, laser cutting machine, shear, roller, band saw, and robot
• Short-run production machining experience
• Monitor tool wear for more efficient conservation. Perform complex machine setups
• Input and maintain data in the ERP computer system/Global
• Complete paperwork/job sheets required for the area
• Accurately operate and read measuring devices
• Train and work in various areas of production in response to production demands
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if the need requires
• Assist in other areas as needed

Requirements:
• HS education with a minimum of 1 year of machine experience, and at least 6 months of experience in the manufacturing industry
• Attention to detail is necessary to adhere to quality standards as well as company workmanship standards
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Follow verbal and written work instructions
• Must possess basic math skills

Environmental Conditions:
• Humidity level may be elevated during summer months
• Exposure to certain contaminants, at times
• Exposure to loud noise, at times

Physical Demands:
• The position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials
• The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, gloves, helmets, and hearing protection is utilized daily
• Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs without physical restrictions
• Able to stand on your feet for at least ten hours a day
• This is a 40-hour per week job with the potential for overtime
