Description
Summary / Objective
The Erema Operator position has two primary functions. The first is to operate the Erema 756T pelletizing plant, the second is to organize and keep all forms of scrap baled on the shift. This person will assist all production lines in the collection and management of all forms of scrap coming off production lines and from customer returns etc. This person will coordinate work with incoming and outgoing shift Erema Operators.
Essential Functions
  1. Must read and understand orders.
  2. Must be knowledgeable of all MSE codes for raw materials and scrap.
  3. Must be able to understand processing conditions of different resin formulations.
  4. Must be able to operate the Erema machines efficiently.
  5. Must be able to weigh materials and subtract tear weights of pallets and boxes.
  6. Must always keep the area clean and organized.
  7. Must be able to determine what scrap is to be baled and what scrap is to be re-pelletized.
  8. Help clean up on the production floor when time permits.
  9. Must be able to change the blades out on the pelletizer head and cutting chamber on the Erema 756T.
  10. Must conform with PPE requirements and Safety Rules.

PPE requirements and Safety Rules
  1. Eye protection is required everywhere in the plant.
  2. Hearing protection is required when crossing the blue lines that are painted on the floor, heading towards the machines.
  3. Safety toed shoes or boots are required everywhere in the plant.
  4. Cut gloves are required to be worn on the opposite hand you use to hold a knife when cutting.
  5. Maximum weight allowed to be lifted by one person is 80 pounds. Anything heavier requires the aid from another person, forklift, big joe, or roll handlers.
  6. Face shields are required to be worn anytime you are over the die during start-up.
  7. Each machine is equipped with multiple safety switches and devices. Although the features are not the same for each machine, they all have safety devices in place to help protect you. These include, pressure sensitive mats, light curtains, pull cords, and emergency stop buttons.

Competencies
  1. Ability to do simple math (addition, subtraction and simple division).
  2. Ability to operate an Erema reprocessing plant efficiently.
  3. Ability to operate within MSE's ERP system.
  4. Ability to handle rolls and boxes.
  5. Ability to read, understand and operate controls of equipment.
  6. Ability to recognize good and bad pellets.
  7. Ability to safely operate a forklift.

Work Environment
This job operates in a plant environment/warehouse environment.
Physical Demands
Lifting continually 20 to 40 pounds. Standing 80% of the day. Kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead 30% of the day. Operating fork truck for heavy lifting and moving scrap to balers and roll stands.
Position Type and Expected Work Hours
This is a full-time, hourly position. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., or 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., on a rotating monthly schedule. Work week is based on a seven-day cycle and days are varied every other week, with employee working 36 hours and 48 hours, respectively. Some overtime is required.
Education and Experience
