About the Role
PELLE is seeking a Part-Time Assembly Associate to join our skilled production team. We specialize in the design and manufacture of custom, high-end lighting fixtures. This hands-on role involves preparing, wiring, and assembling lighting products to the highest quality standards. 
The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in producing exceptional craftsmanship while meeting production schedules.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble custom lighting fixtures to exacting quality standards.
  • Meet production deadlines consistently and efficiently.
  • Handle delicate materials and components with care, including glass, paper, metal, and decorative artwork.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace within the lighting department.
  • Assist with organization and upkeep of the wood and metal shops, as well as other studio tasks as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with the production team and supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate production records and updates according to studio procedures.
  • Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Ability to follow detailed assembly and production instructions accurately.
  • Strong hands-on skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and handle large or heavy lighting fixtures when required.
  • Ability to distinguish material finishes, colors, textures, and surface qualities, including metals, glass, paper, and wood.
  • Experience using hand and power tools is required.
  • Woodworking and/or metalworking experience is preferred.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques, products, and processes as studio needs evolve.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Professional references available upon request.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Part-time position: 3 days per week
  • Pay rate: $28 per hour
  • Weekly pay schedule
  • Part-time benefits available
  • W-2 employment (Form W-4 completed upon hire)

Schedule & Location
This position is based at PELLE’s studio in MADE Bush Terminal, Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
  • Hours: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Schedule: 3 days per week (Monday–Friday), to be determined upon hiring
