We are currently seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and reliable Medication Aide to join our team at Pee Dee Gardens. This role is vital in administering medications safely, monitoring residents' health conditions, and ensuring a supportive and caring environment.

Position Summary:
The Medication Aide is responsible for the safe and accurate administration of medications to residents, monitoring their health status, and supporting the nursing team in maintaining residents' well-being. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to high-quality care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Medication Administration:
    • Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications according to physician orders and company protocols.
    • Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications in compliance with regulations.
    • Monitor residents for adverse reactions or side effects and report concerns to the nursing team promptly.
  • Health Monitoring:
    • Observe and report changes in residents' health status, behavior, and physical condition.
    • Measure and record vital signs as needed.
    • Assist with basic healthcare tasks under the supervision of licensed staff.
  • Resident Engagement:
    • Build positive relationships with residents through compassionate care and effective communication.
    • Encourage residents' participation in wellness programs and activities.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Follow infection control procedures and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
    • Ensure medication carts, records, and supplies are organized, secure, and well-maintained.
    • Respond promptly to emergency situations and assist with emergency care when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare, senior living, or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Compassionate, patient, and attentive to residents' needs.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
    • Ability to assist residents with mobility and physical support as needed.
  • Certifications & Requirements:
    • Active Medication Aide certification in good standing with the state.
    • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
    • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
