Summary:
The RN/Limited Radiologic Technologist will assist with the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating of patient care in the clinic practice setting. Responsible for documentation of interventions, outcomes, and patient/family education. Collaborates with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to provide continuity of care. The RN/Limited Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the direction and assignment of nursing interventions that may be performed by others. Performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate patient care and is accountable to the policies and procedures of the organization.
The LPN/Limited Radiologic Technologist will assist with the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating of patient care in the clinic practice setting. The LPN/Limited Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the direction and assignment of nursing interventions that may be performed by others. Performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate patient care and is accountable to the policies and procedures of the organization.
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Radiology Services, performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. The Radiologic Technologist works effectively with patients and patients' families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.
Cross Training is possible if determined that there is a need within the department. If interested, communicate with the Manager/Director prior to cross training.

- Assist the Physician with sutures and suture removal, cast application and removal, injections and other procedures as directed.
- Schedule surgery and obtain appropriate insurance authorizations for surgery and tests.
- Order supplies for the clinic.
- Clean and process clinic instruments and equipment.
- Formulate and initiate patient plans of care as appropriate and provide continuity of care to meet the age specific needs.
- Include and communicates the plan of care to patient, family, significant others and relays pertinent information through appropriate documentation and referral to other health care team members.
- Carry out physician orders within scope of practice.
- Records information on the patient record in accordance with charting and regulatory guidelines.
- Recognizes changes in patient status based on interpretation of assessments and carries out physician orders.
- Accurately and skillfully performs and documents all procedures and treatments administered to patients during their clinic visit.
- Delegate and assign appropriate aspects of patient care with the ability to prioritize patients in urgent and emergent setting.
- Organize and adjust workload to meet the needs of the clinic and maintain patient flow.
- Make appointment call backs to patient/family with appropriate documentation.
- Appropriately utilizes a triage process for patient call-ins with appropriate documentation.
- Call in medication orders from physicians to appropriate pharmacy when needed. Make appointments for patients as ordered by physicians. Communicate instructions to patients and others as necessary with appropriate documentation.
- Review, process and call patients with pending lab, x-ray, and drug screen results after physician review of those results.
- Administer IV fluids as appropriate.
- Calculate and verify dosage for drug administration.
- Identify educational needs for patient/family.
- Use available teaching aids to implement teaching plan for assigned patient/family and revises the plan based on evaluation of effectiveness.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient environment.
- Assess patient/family level of understanding of their rights and responsibilities as healthcare consumers and include them in decision making.
- Advocate for patients' needs through communication and the interdisciplinary planning process.

- Assist physician and technologists with Radiologic procedures. Coordinate procedures with appropriate departments and personnel as needed.
- Maintain technical skills relating to imaging factors.
- Maintain knowledge of anatomy and pathology in order to produce high quality images.
- Proficiently operate all functions of radiographic equipment.
- Maintain proficiency in diagnostic radiography.
- Select and manipulate proper technical factors to obtain quality images.
- Ensure exams are completed in a prompt manner from receipt or requisition & imaging for interpretation.
- Review images and adjust technical factors or patient positions as needed to assist in diagnosis.
- Uses filtration devices (I.e. boluses, filters), FFD, film-screen combinations, photocell selection, etc. to obtain highest quality images.
- Maintain skills in performing emergency and routine patient care as required.
- Utilizes effective patient care and communication skills to obtain optimum patient rapport.
- Monitor patient condition and take appropriate action to ensure continuity of patient care.

Current Medical Radiographer license from the State of Nebraska required.
Limited Radiographer License from the State of Nebraska obtained within one year from date of hire. License must include Core, Chest and Extremities. Skull and Spine may be required based on department need required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.
