Job Summary:
Panelmatic is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Testing Technician, PEC to join our Production Engineering Center (PEC) team in Conroe. This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, and validating electrical control panels to ensure compliance with company Quality Assurance Programs (QAP), engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of electrical systems, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Job Duties:
  • Inspect completed control panels to verify workmanship meets Panelmatic quality standards and QAP requirements
  • Perform power-up and functional testing of electrical control panels and systems
  • Interpret and verify compliance with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot wiring or component issues; implement corrective actions
  • Document test results, discrepancies, and resolutions clearly and accurately
  • Ensure all components and wiring match engineering specifications and bill of materials
  • Maintain testing equipment, tools, and a clean, organized test environment
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues efficiently
  • Follow all safety procedures and industry standards during testing activities

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience testing electrical equipment or control panels
  • 5+ years working within a Quality Assurance Program (QAP) or similar quality system
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Proven troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs or more
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods 4+ hours at a time
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing/test environment
  • U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship available)
  • Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with industrial control panels (PLC, MCC, VFD systems, etc.)
  • Familiarity with NEC, UL508A, or other applicable standards
  • Experience using testing equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, or hi-pot testers
