Lead, Manufacturing Engineering (Distillation Engineer)
Job Description:
The Role
Entegris is currently seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineeringteam. This position will be based in our Burnet, TX facility.
In this role, you will be a key player on a dynamic, skilled team whose objective is to sustain and continuously improve specialty chemical manufacturing processes for products used in semiconductor manufacturing. This role will be primarily responsible for supporting the distillation purification processes and equipment.
What You'll Do
  • Drive a "Safety First" culture by performing equipment, process, and behavioral audits and recommending/implementing solutions to risks

  • Develop/execute strategies and lead projects to expand manufacturing capacity on mid to high volume products/processes or to reduce variation and cost and to increase product yields

  • Communicate effectively across the organization (e.g. facilities, operations, customer quality, etc.) to drive a result.

  • Contribute to the direction of the department in partnership with other members of the team and leadership

  • Persistently drive resolution to highest impact issues/threats to manufacturing with a strong sense of urgency and integrity

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts as issues arise from internal/external customer concerns and collaborate with production personnel to implement sustainable solutions

  • Complete failure analysis testing on returned products, collaborating with Quality to develop and implement corrective action plans

  • Actively use and lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes for significant failures to prevent reoccurrence

  • Own and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and key initiatives

  • Create required documentation for new/modified equipment and processes including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and recipes

  • Update, standardize, and consolidate existing documentation of processes including clear and accurate work instructions and PIDs for manufacturing operators on process operations

  • Submit capital investment requests with supporting business case justifications and drive the execution of capital projects

  • Collaborate with New Product Development team on introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring necessary process robustness, documentation, and training have been completed

  • Coach and mentor junior engineers

What We Seek
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or similar

  • 10+ years of experience in operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of equipment that supports chemical distillation purification and/or packaging
  • Distillation experience required

  • Demonstrated leadership ability to drive cross-functional project execution and problem solving while maintaining positive/collaborative working relationships

  • Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, Control Logic Diagrams, Instrumentation Selection, Valve and Line Sizing, etc

  • Experience with FMEA or other risk assessment tools

  • Ability to present technical data to all levels of the organization

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and wear PPE as necessary

  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally in support of various engineering projects/escalations (<5%)

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with SPC, ISO quality standards, management-of-change for product/process control, chemical compatibility studies

  • Familiarity with handling hazardous materials

  • Familiarity with DOT 49 CFR hazardous material transportation codes and regulations

  • Experience with Aspen, AutoCAD/Solidworks or similar a plus
