Position Summary
Reporting to the Buying Point Manager, the mechanic is responsible for performing all daily mechanical needs on the company trucks.
 
Position Responsibilities 
  • Perform daily safety checks on each truck 
  • Build and assemble mechanical components according to requirements 
  • Inspect engines, transmissions etc. And run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues 
  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability 
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner 
  • Perform thorough maintenance and repair. 
  • Clean and apply lubricants, replenish fluids and components 
  • Keep logs of work performed and report issues 
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines and report any issues to Safety Manager 
  • Understand ofi Peanut Shelling safety policies, work safely and report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager or Safety Coordinator. 
  • Follow ofi Peanut Shelling Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) guidelines. 
  • Follow all ofi Peanut Shelling Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred. 
  • CDL preferred.  
  • Proven experience as mechanic 
  • Ability to follow procedures, and read instructions/blueprints 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills 
  • Able to work as part of a team. 
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Physical dexterity. 
  • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary) 
  • This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air.
