About the Role - Systems Integration and Test Engineerย 

Peak Energy is looking for a System Integration and Test Engineer to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team and own integration testing and functional verification efforts for our energy storage systems, from batteries to power electronics. This role will work closely with firmware, design, and simulation teams to understand needs, develop procedures, setย upย andย runย andย ultimately reportย onย appropriate tests. Through testing, you will play a key role in informing the design direction of the product. This person is a self-starter who is hungry for knowledge and holds themselves and others toย high standards.ย We are open to all levels.ย 

Whatย You'llย Do (Responsibilities):ย ย 

  • Ownย and conduct comprehensive testing of functionalย systems for BMS,ย inverters,ย and otherย systems across our energy storageย product.ย 
  • Design, implement, andย validateย HILย and benchtopย test systems for real-time simulation and validation of our BMS.ย 
  • Develop, execute, verify, and document test scripts, automation, andย HILย systems.ย 
  • Create andย maintainย automated test scripts to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.ย 
  • Develop test strategies, plans, and procedures across systems, from electrical to mechanical systems.ย ย 
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design integrity and improvements.ย ย 
  • Analyze complex test data, report findings, and drive system enhancements.ย ย 
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve intricate technical issues during testing.ย ย 
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team skill enhancement.ย ย 
  • Drive innovation in testing methodologies and practices.ย ย 
  • Interface tightly with design,ย simulationย and manufacturing engineering partners to inform design decisions.ย ย 
  • Drive andย participateย in a culture of rapid prototyping and testing.ย ย

What You'll Bring (Qualifications):ย 

  • Bachelor's orย Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.ย ย 
  • In-depth knowledge of battery management systems (BMS) architecture and implementationย 
  • Experience interfacing with microcontrollers and writing scripts for functional testing.ย ย 
  • Ability to architect,ย procure, assemble, andย operateย electromechanical automated test setups.ย ย 
  • Proficiencyย in Python or similarย 
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation.ย 
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.ย ย 

Preferred Qualifications:ย ย 

  • High voltage battery and power electronics experience.ย 
  • Utility-scale energy storage systems experience.ย 
  • Experience developing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systemsย 
  • 3+ years of experience in testing high voltage systems, preferably in power electronics or batteries.ย

Compensation & Benefitsย 

The salary range for this role is $140,000-$215,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. Our competitive benefits package includes:ย
