Description

Irwin Marine is seeking a skilled and motivated Fiberglass Repair Technician to join our marine service team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the quality, appearance, and performance of customer and dealership boats across our Lake Winnipesaukee locations. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, works efficiently in a team environment, and is passionate about the boating industry. We have a brand new fiberglass repair facility that you will love working in.


Major Duties & Responsibilities

Perform fiberglass and gelcoat repairs on a variety of boats, including pontoons, bowriders, cruisers, and wake boats.

Repair cosmetic and structural damage including cracks, gouges, dock rash, stress fractures, and water intrusion.

Sand, grind, laminate, fill, fair, buff, and finish fiberglass surfaces to factory-quality standards.

Color-match and apply gelcoat finishes.

Prepare boats for delivery, detailing, and customer pickup.

Inspect completed repairs to ensure high-quality workmanship.

Maintain tools, materials, and a clean work area.

Follow all safety procedures and proper handling of fiberglass materials and chemicals.

Work closely with service advisors, technicians, and management to meet repair schedules and customer expectations.

Assist with additional marine service tasks when needed during peak boating season.

Requirements

Skills & Requirements

Previous fiberglass, auto body, collision repair, or marine repair experience preferred.

Experience with gelcoat finishing and polishing is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced service environment.

Comfortable using power tools, sanding equipment, and spray equipment.

Ability to lift 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in seasonal conditions.

Valid driver's license preferred.
