This role reports to: Director of Manufacturing / Plant Manager
About the role
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving quality excellence across a large-scale manufacturing operation. The Quality Manager will lead a team of over 60 quality professionals, including Production Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, Incoming Quality Control (IQC) personnel, and Line Quality Control (LQC) Technicians, along with quality team members supporting all production shifts.
What You Will Do
  • Lead all Quality Management System (QMS) activities to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, UL, IEC, and customer-specific requirements for microinverter and battery energy storage products.
  • Develop and execute quality strategies that improve First Pass Yield (FPY), reduce scrap, minimize customer returns, and improve overall manufacturing performance.
  • Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits and ensure timely closure of findings and corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain quality control plans, inspection standards, sampling plans, and process controls across SMT, PCBA, assembly, test, packaging, and battery module production.
  • Drive root cause investigations using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA, SPC, and statistical analysis tools to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Manage non-conforming materials and products, including MRB disposition, containment actions, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Supply Chain, and NPI teams to ensure robust product launches and process qualification.
  • Lead supplier quality initiatives, including supplier audits, incoming quality performance, corrective actions, and supplier development programs.
  • Monitor and improve key quality metrics including:
    • First Pass Yield (FPY)
    • Defects Per Million (DPPM)
    • Customer Complaints
    • Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
    • Field Failure Rates
    • Scrap and Rework Costs
    • Corrective Action Closure
  • Ensure effective implementation of quality tools including Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA, GR&R, SPC, and Layered Process Audits.
  • Lead customer quality activities, including complaint investigations, warranty analysis, field returns, and customer audits.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality organization including Quality Engineers, SQEs, Inspectors, Technicians, and Auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing efficiency, reliability, product safety, and operational excellence.

Who you are and What you bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • 12+ years of quality leadership experience in high-volume electronics, power electronics, battery, automotive, or renewable energy manufacturing environments.
  • 5+ years managing quality teams in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Strong understanding of microinverters, power electronics, PCBAs, batteries, battery management systems (BMS), and electronic assembly processes.
  • Proven experience leading ISO 9001 and customer audits in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Deep knowledge of: APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA / GR&R, 8D Problem Solving, CAPA, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience supporting SMT, PCBA, assembly, test, and final system integration operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and drive fact-based decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success reducing scrap, improving yield, and lowering Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent certification preferred.

The base pay range for this position is $110,000 to $167,000. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits
