Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and night shift availability on a 4x12 schedule.
Details
- Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, high-risk antepartum, low-risk antepartum, post-op/pre-op OB, and GYN surgery cases
- Facility delivers between 200โ300 births per month
- Staffing ratio of 1:1โ3
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00โ07:30
- 26-week contract
- Floating required to Post-Partum and NICU based on skill set; travelers may also be expected to float between sister facilities within the state
- EMR: Epic (required)
- Special procedures include blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vac, and administration of heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
- Attends all deliveries including high-risk; supports GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, epidural anesthesia, PCA pump use, fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, sterile vaginal exam, C-section circulating and recovery, obstetrical triage, antepartum and postpartum care, and wound assessment
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (as permanent staff, traveler, or registry/per-diem), including location and dates
Additional Information
- Teaching hospital work environment
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
- Former permanent staff of any Providence/Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible; former permanent staff must also reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Permanent employees of non-Swedish Providence facilities are eligible if separated for at least 3 months; all Swedish facilities honor an active compact license
- Candidates must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be granted, and inflexibility beyond the contracted schedule may result in contract termination
- Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
