Description

FIC America Corp. is a global Tier 1 automotive components manufacturer centrally located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. We are actively seeking a Material Planner/Buyer (PC) Specialist. The PC Specialist will coordinate purchasing, delivery, and distribution of supplies according to production schedules, customer demand forecasts, and current inventory. This role supports the overall success of the production scheduling, purchasing, planning and production processes.


Essential Job Functions

  • Perform physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy of inventory levels
  • Determine materials need based on production schedules, customer forecasts, and current inventory
  • Order supplies, such as welding components for production use
  • Collaborate with suppliers to verify lead times, routes and deliveries of materials
  • Track current orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Receive and verify incoming shipments
  • Input delivery paperwork, such as invoices, into electronic database
  • Oversee production plans to ensure products are completed according to schedules
  • Investigate delays and potential delays to prevent downtime
  • Follow stand work instructions
  • Perform additional duties as requested or assigned

Other Job Functions

  • Comply with FIC's Safety policies and procedures
  • Comply with TS 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and standards
  • Perform 5-S activities

Requirements

  • 3+ years of procurement experience in a production environment is required
  • Excellent organizational skills, scheduling (3yrs) and attention to detail
  • Process, scheduling, manufacturing and supply chain (3yrs)
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with an ERP system is required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience working in an automotive industry is preferred
  • Experience working with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier is preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean or TPS practices is preferred

Pay Range 65k - 80k year based on qualifications and experience
