As the PBM Data Enablement Data Owner, you'll take ownership of the data strategy for your assigned domain(s), ensuring that the domain's data drives value across the organization. Together with the Technology Data Steward, you'll create a comprehensive data management vision, ensuring accountability for data governance metrics, data lifecycle management and compliance within one or more business data domains.

You will act as a crucial liaison in promoting adherence to data strategies, policies, and standards among data users and allocates essential resources for initiatives. Your expertise enhances alignment between business and technology, improves data quality, ensures data management adherence, mitigates data risks, and encourages collaboration and business agility among teams.

This position requires an agile and collaborative leader who will partner with the Digital, Data, Analytics, & Technology (DDAT) Team to guide strategic direction of data governance consistent with enterprise standards. This role requires clear communication and ongoing engagement across PBM business units to ensure that data is easily accessible, and that the data needs of both our internal and external partners are being met.

Primary Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Set domain strategy and vision: Collaborate with other business leaders to understand their business needs and data requirements; create a strategy that meets those needs.

  • Define data use cases: Document key use cases for domain data across the PBM and collaborate with technical colleagues to ensure that proposed technical solutions address those use cases.

  • Validate tactical execution: In partnership with Technology leaders, verify that technical solutions meet overall strategy and fully address business use cases.

  • Establish, document, and monitor Data Governance and Data Quality metrics: Collaborate with data steward to define domain-specific objectives and key results (OKRs), track the effectiveness of data governance practices, and work with business leaders to drive compliance with data management policies and standards within the domain(s).

  • Empower end-users and drive broad and appropriate data use: As the subject matter expert in domain-specific data and systems, be the primary resource for data-related inquiries-offering expertise to end-users and pointing them to relevant tools, datasets, and resources.

  • Drive data and process standardization across the PBM: advocate and support adoption of standard processes and tools for data querying, reporting, and analytics.

  • Ensure effective resource allocation and alignment: Facilitate resource planning and allocation to ensure successful implementation of data governance initiatives.

  • Participate in PBM-wide initiatives: Participate in Data Stewardship council as decision-maker on data management initiatives. Provide domain expertise and serve as conduit to relevant business leaders.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in a highly regulated, complex, data heavy environment.

  • Experience collaborating with IT/Data organizations to set goals and oversee execution.

  • Proven experience developing and executing business strategy in a technology context.

  • 7+ years of demonstrated organizational skills (e.g., project management experience or managing cross-team/department initiatives with demonstrated success).

  • 5+ years healthcare experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PBM Experience.

  • Experience collaborating with agile technical teams as a subject matter expert, product manager, program manager, or product analyst.

  • Experience with popular BI platforms like Tableau and MicroStrategy.

  • Familiarity with relational databases and data architecture concepts.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$75,400.00 - $182,549.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
