Job description

Time & Pay Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Payroll Specialist to join our team. We are a locally owned payroll service bureau providing payroll and related services to businesses across a variety of industries.

This position combines payroll processing, client service, organization, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable managing multiple responsibilities, and interested in developing long-term payroll knowledge and skills.

Prior payroll experience is helpful, but not required. We provide on-the-job training for candidates who demonstrate strong customer service skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and an ability to learn new systems and processes.

Responsibilities

   Process client payrolls accurately and within established deadlines

   Review and enter payroll-related information, including new hires, pay changes, deductions, tax updates, and other client requests

   Prioritize daily responsibilities based on payroll schedules and client needs

   Prepare and review payroll information with clients before processing

   Respond to client emails and telephone calls in a professional and timely manner

   Upload and reconcile retirement, HSA, Workers' Compensation, and other payroll-related files

   Research payroll questions by reviewing system history, documentation, correspondence, and account records

   Maintain accurate client notes and documentation

   Protect confidential payroll, employee, and company information

   Work effectively across multiple software platforms

   Assist with identifying opportunities to improve workflows and internal processes

Compensation & Benefits

   Starting pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications
