Job Title: Payroll Processor
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Type: Direct Hire
Work Model: Hybrid - onsite and remote
Overview
As part of a dedicated team of Payroll Processors, you will report to the Payroll Supervisor and play a key role in accurately and efficiently processing payroll for approximately 8,000 employees. This collaborative role involves managing various payroll-related tasks while ensuring compliance with Federal and State wage and tax laws and adhering to company policies and procedures. Working closely with other team members, you will help maintain smooth payroll operations and provide exceptional support to employees and departments across the organization
Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare and process payroll using ADP Enterprise for a diverse, multi-state workforce
  • Collect, review, and verify timecard data and expenses to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to payroll processing
  • Generate and distribute detailed payroll reports to relevant departments, facilitating transparency and accountability
  • Balance payroll registers against input totals to maintain accurate and complete payroll records
  • Identify and promptly correct discrepancies resulting from processing errors, ensuring payroll accuracy and reliability
  • Work closely with various departments to streamline time collection, data entry, and resolution of payroll-related issues
  • Process and audit payroll changes, including onboarding new hires, processing terminations, and updating employee records
  • Review and submit wage garnishments, such as child support orders and tax levies, to ADP for efficient processing
  • Handle retroactive payroll adjustments, including pay rate changes and tax jurisdiction updates, to maintain compliance and accuracy
  • Investigate and correct errors in employee wages, deductions, and tax withholdings to ensure precise payroll outcomes
  • Process out-of-cycle check requests and issue payments via pay card or ACH to meet urgent payroll needs
  • Administer, track, and recover cash advances as required, ensuring proper documentation and accountability
  • Monitor the payroll inbox, addressing inquiries and resolving employee issues or concerns efficiently and professionally
  • Assist employees in accessing and utilizing self-service tools, enabling them to make necessary payroll-related updates
  • Ensure all payroll practices adhere to Federal and State regulations as well as company policies, maintaining legal and procedural compliance

Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of payroll processing experience, preferably with ADP
  • Experience with multi-state payroll tax and wage laws
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
  • Collaborative team player with a willingness to assist others
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
  • Experience with UKG/Kronos preferred
