Overview

Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Manager, Payroll & Benefits to join our team in Calgary, AB / Tucson, AZ / Morton, IL. Reporting to the Lead, HRIS Operations, this role will lead North American payroll and benefits operations while driving payroll transformation initiatives, ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll delivery, and supporting the development of a scalable global payroll function.

Responsibilities

As Manager, Payroll & Benefits you will be responsible for these activities:

  • Lead end-to-end payroll and benefits operations across the United States and Canada, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while developing and mentoring a high-performing payroll team.
  • Drive payroll transformation initiatives by leading payroll harmonization, system consolidation, process optimization, testing activities, and the development of a scalable global payroll roadmap.
  • Partner with People & Culture, Finance, HRIS, IT, payroll vendors, and benefits providers to improve payroll operations, administer competitive benefits programs, and implement automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish strong payroll governance, compliance, and internal control frameworks, ensuring adherence to U.S. and Canadian payroll legislation, statutory reporting requirements, and audit standards.
QualificationsMust Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with extensive knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll operations, including employee benefits administration.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing payroll teams in complex, multi-entity and multi-region environments.
  • Hands-on experience with ADP payroll platforms, payroll system implementations, testing (including UAT, parallel testing, reconciliation, and validation), payroll transformation initiatives, and North American payroll compliance.
Nice To Have:
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, global payroll expansion, or large-scale payroll integration initiatives.
  • PCP, CPM, CPP, or equivalent payroll certification.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors integrations or broader HRIS/payroll ecosystems.
