The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.

Job Summary

We are now hiring a Payroll Adminstrator to join the DRS Naval Power Systems team. As a member of the payroll team, you will be responsible for processing payroll including balancing and reconciling all payroll figures for three facilities and approximately 1,500 employees.

This position is remote eligible and reports to our Danbury, CT site.

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for processing the biweekly salary/hourly payroll, as well as the weekly payroll for hourly union employees
  • Consolidate timesheets and prepare submission to ADP
  • Setup direct deposit and tax withholding information
  • Familiarize yourself and keep current with the taxation of salaries, benefits and other factors
  • Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications
  • Document and maintain all payroll records
  • Support all audit requests and requirements
  • Reconcile general ledger with regard to payroll transactions
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns
  • Responsible for processing payroll including balancing and reconciling all payroll figures
  • Verifies payroll, including entering any exceptions such as overtime, LOA, sick time, vacation time,etc.
  • Prepare reports as required, i.e. 941 Reporting by quarter, 401k match verifications
  • Prepare verifications of employment for employee credit applications, mortgages, etc
  • Balance all year end W-2 data, including gross wages, taxes, moving expenses,etc.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience and HS diploma; associate's degree preferred
  • Experience in a union and manufacturing environment
  • Excellent organization and mathematical skills
  • Experience with ADP a must
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of payroll business procedures and principles
  • Working knowledge of computerized payroll systems
  • Able to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks
